British athletic stars hope to impress home crowd at Müller Anniversary Games

Press Release 10/06/2019

This July, track and field stars from all over the world will descend on London Stadium for an unforgettable weekend of athletics at the Müller Anniversary Games. The annual event celebrates the legacy of London’s 2012 Games, and it’s fitting that such a competition should be held in the venue that played host to so many iconic moments that year. “The Stadium is a special place!” said Jonnie Peacock, one of Britain’s most celebrated para athletes.

Alongside some of the world’s biggest names in athletics – including Yohan Blake and Andre De Grasse – Britain’s best will be out in force and looking to do their home crowd proud. “As an athlete you compete all over the world, but there’s nothing like doing it in front of a home crowd. I’m going to work hard to put on a show for everyone!” said silver medallist Reece Prescod.

“It’s so much easier doing it in front of a home crowd,” agreed Jonnie Peacock. “The support is amazing and the crowd are so loud, which all just pushes you even harder to try and win.”

Dina Asher-Smith, Stef Reid and Zharnel Hughes will also be competing across the packed weekend. Click here for more information and to buy tickets.
