The materials (making up the walls, windows, ceilings etc) that has been used to build the new homes within this neighbourhood have been chosen to create energy-efficient spaces, reducing the amount of energy that is required to heat each home. All new homes are connected to the district energy network, with some homes also incorporating solar panels to generate their own electricity. The majority of homes achieve an Energy Performance Certificate rating of B.
