London Mural Festival and London Design Festival at IQL

Story 08/09/2020

Throughout September we’re excited to be a part of London Mural Festival and London Design Festival as we welcome them both to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park!

London Mural Festival is one of the world's biggest celebrations of street art, and is coming to the Park this month! Hosted by International Quarter London (IQL), every weekday from 3 September to 15 September you can spot artists creating a brand new mural on Westfield Avenue, Stratford as they bring their art to the people as part of this inaugural festival! Local and international artists will be featured as they bring colour and culture to east London, so come and see how street art is created for yourself! And keep an eye on announcements from Hackney Bridge who’ll also have an exciting addition to #LondonMuralFestival!

And from 12 September come and join the Help London Grow pop-up which is part of London Design Festival. Take part in fun activities and upcycling workshops, grab some delicious food and drink from local vendors, and learn how to create your very own green space at home with useful tips and free seeds packets! Located at IQL and free to join – come and see for yourselves!

We’re also excited to be welcoming the landmark project ‘The Hothouse’ to the Park. The structure, created by London-based architecture practice Studio Weave is a large-scale installation located at IQL and will be home to a vast array of productive plants from all over the world as it pays homage to the tradition for growing under glass throughout the Lee Valley.

There will be strict social distancing measures in place so that visitors can enjoy these festivals safely.
