#2012DAYS SINCE LONDON 2012

Story 29/01/2018

On Monday 29 January, we are celebrating 2012 days since the start of the London 2012 Games! Join us to share the excitement #2012days

On Friday 27 July 2012, the London 2012 Games began! The six weeks which followed were full of world-records, Gold medals, and hundreds of inspiring moments.

2012 days later, on Monday 29 January 2018, we are celebrating what has been an incredible five and a half years, along with an exciting future ahead on the Park.

Since the Park fully re-opened in July 2014, we have welcomed the world’s finest athletes back to the Park again in the annual Anniversary Games, Six Day Cycling, the London 2017 World Athletics Championships and so much more. There’s still so much to look forward to – with the International Table Tennis Federation Team World Cup and Women’s Hockey World Cup coming to the Park this year too!

We don’t only attract the world’s finest athletes, we have the world’s greatest artists too. The London Stadium has hosted the likes of ACDC, Robbie Williams, Guns ‘N Roses and many more over the years – and we are currently looking forward to Foo Fighters playing in two sold out stadium concerts this summer. Keep your eye out on our events list too – more acts will be announced soon.

Over the past 2012 days, the Park has also transformed into east London’s most exciting, innovative and energetic Park. Across the hundreds of acres of Parklands, you’ll find state-of-the-art playgrounds, interactive trails, the world’s longest and tallest tunnel Slide, delicious food and drink venues, and a vision for the future – with projects like the world’s first autonomous bus being trialled on the paths of the Park.

To celebrate the London 2012 Games and the 2012 days that have since followed, we’d love to hear your stories and see your pictures! Whether it’s a selfie from the opening ceremonies, a story about an interaction with a Games Maker or a picture of the Park last spring – we’d love to see them. Share your stories with us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #2012days
