From 1-24 December, your countdown to the festive season comes alive as Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park presents Winter Adventure. Each evening at 6pm, a different venue opens its doors and unlocks a special, free activity for you to experience!
Alongside the Winter Adventure lineup of activities, there’s so much for you to experience on the Park. From delicious dinners and warming drinks to festive markets and cultural activities, read on to plan a full day or evening out with your family and friends around the 6pm Winter Adventure moment.

Festive feasting is all part of the magic of the time! Your first stop should be Riverside East who serve up hearty winter favourites and indulgent festive specials in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. For something extra special, Barge East invites you aboard its award-winning floating restaurant to enjoy a Christmas dining experience full of flavour and charm. If you’re on the move, stop off at one of our kiosks, such as Taverna in the Park or Potato Dog, which are ideal for picking up a hot snack or sweet treat to enjoy as you stroll through the Park. For those looking for healthy eating, the newly-opened Ginger & Mint offers a fresh twist with nourishing breakfasts, wholesome sandwiches and vibrant juices to keep you energised.

When it’s time for a warming hot drink, there are plenty of inviting spots to choose from. Timber Lodge Cafe, right beside the Tumbling Bay Playground, is perfect for families, offering warming hot drinks and a fully stocked bar. Tsujiri, a newly-opened waterfront café, brings a taste of matcha magic to the Park, while Saint Espresso at Here East roasts its beans on site for coffee lovers who want the real deal. Back at Riverside East, the café and bar provide the ideal place to unwind as the sun sets over the Park.

Festive markets fill the Park with music, lights and seasonal cheer. Hackney Bridge hosts Hackney Wickmas, where you can pick out your Christmas tree from mid-November and browse weekend markets throughout December. Barge East transforms into Wick Wonderland, offering a range of local crafts and plenty of festive atmosphere. Riverside East will host The Big Christmas Market on Saturday 6 December packed with 40+ traders with something for everyone, while Not Just a Shop at London College of Fashion showcases beautifully crafted pieces from UAL’s talented creatives — the perfect place to find a unique present.

The festive spirit continues with a variety of experiences across the Park. Sadler’s Wells East presents Ebony Scrooge, a hip-hop makeover of Dickens’ classic for the whole family. Looking for a cosy afternoon inside? Draughts offers a corner to settle in for board games and a relaxed time with friends and family. For an extra dose of culture, head to the V&A East Storehouse and explore fascinating displays and behind-the-scenes insights from one of London’s most exciting new museum spaces.
