How has Elevate helped?

Discover ways Elevate has helped shape the Park:

  • Elevate have fed into every major planning application on the Park from the overarching masterplanning phase right through to the detailed design of the individual neighbourhoods.
  • They have helped shape each of the LLDC’s Priority Theme strategies.
  • They were part of the selection committee that appointed the design team for Timber Lodge and Tumbling Bay.
  • As a direct role of their work on the Women and Girls piece, they are now co-clienting the development of a shelter for the Youth Play space that will be situated in the phase 2 of the East Wick development. A team of girls from Elevate have been working with the Mayor Design Advocates to develop a brief and will work with a team of built environment experts throughout the process.
  • Contributing to the development of Shift, feeding into plans, ensuring that it meets its key objective of being an inclusive innovation district. This has involved providing detailed feedback on Shift key themes at the Future Me Future Youth conference in 2022 and providing a keynote speech at the Shift launch.
  • Ongoing involvement with the two flagship skills and employment spaces on QEOP:
    • Good Growth Hub - fed into the initial design of the space, were involved in a design challenge through the Fuse project, fed into the branding and were involved in shaping the future governance structure.
    • Build East - feeding into their future plans, exploring ways to partner with the community. Build East team have committed to work with Elevate to establish a ‘youth voice for Build East’ which will essentially be made up of user groups which they plan to establish by the end of the year.

Elevate Research

This research project was commissioned by Spirit of 2012 and delivered through the London 2012 Legacy Partnership Project. Elevate was tasked with exploring public perceptions of the Legacy of the London 2012 Games, what has been achieved so far, and what future potential remains.

Designed by Elevate the research involved a broadly representative sample of young people across east London, with a particular focus on under-represented communities. The findings provide insights into how young people view the legacy, the challenges they face, their future ambitions and how programmes like Elevate can continue to support their journey.
