Vision

A stone's throw from the BBC, V&A, Sadler's Wells and London College of Fashion, University of Arts London, Stratford Waterfront will be a vibrant, waterside neighbourhood. It will deliver 700 high quality homes together with new places to eat, drink and socialise.

Stratford Waterfront builds on the proud legacy of London 2012: the most inclusive celebration of international talent in the history of the Olympic Games.Together with the East Bank, it will be a destination for residents, local communities and visitors as a new landmark development embedded in the UK’s most vibrant and creative cultural quarter.

The homes will be of exceptional quality, with a wealth of access to the green open parkland and biodiversity of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as well as its abundant leisure and employment opportunities. It will be a neighbourhood which is inclusive and welcoming for all, with excellent public realm and safe movement networks linking the neighbourhood to Stratford and beyond. It will be inherently sustainable, designing and building to the highest standards of low carbon and climate resilient residential design.

Site Context

Stratford Waterfront is a 2.4 acres site adjacent to East Bank on a peninsula between the railway and Waterfront River. The site form part of a wider masterplan with East Bank. London's East Bank provides cultural and educational uses for the BBC, V&A, Sadler's Wells and London College of Fashion, University of London. When complete there will be continuous public realm along the Waterworks River. The will connect to the wider Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Historically, the site was a prime location for industry given its frontages onto the river and onto Carpenters Road. During the Olympics the site hosted the water polo arena and most recently has been used as the construction compound for the East Bank development.
