East Bank is the UK’s newest cultural and innovation quarter, located at the heart of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Purpose-built to bring together leading cultural institutions, higher education, research and creative industries, East Bank is a place where ideas scale, talent converges and culture drives economic growth.

A Long-Term Legacy Location

Since hosting the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park has undergone one of Europe’s most ambitious regeneration programmes. Today, it is one of London’s largest and most visited green spaces and a rapidly growing hub for knowledge-led development.

From 2015 onwards, the area has seen sustained investment delivering new homes, commercial workspaces, education, leisure and infrastructure, positioning the Park as a strategically significant destination for London’s future economy.

East Bank: A Major Civic and Commercial Investment

Now open, East Bank represents the largest cultural investment ever made by the Mayor of London, supported by HM Government and the four Olympic boroughs. It is a long-term collaboration between world-leading universities, global cultural institutions and local communities, designed to attract talent, research, inward investment and partnerships at scale.

East Bank is home to an unparalleled concentration of globally recognised organisations:

• Sadler’s Wells East
  A landmark new venue for contemporary dance, featuring a 550-seat theatre and a world-leading hip-hop academy. Sadler’s Wells East positions London as a global centre for creative development, talent pipelines and international touring production.

• UAL: London College of Fashion
  A state-of-the-art campus bringing together education, research and industry collaboration. The site supports fashion business, innovation and sustainability, alongside a public-facing programme of exhibitions, showcases and events that connect academia with industry.

• UCL East
  A major expansion of University College London, focused on pioneering research, interdisciplinary teaching and innovation. UCL East provides facilities for collaboration across science, engineering, culture and society, playing a key role in translating research into real-world outcomes.

• V&A East Museum and V&A East Storehouse
  A new cultural anchor for east London, combining a museum with open-access collections, research facilities and behind-the-scenes storage. The V&A East showcases global creativity while supporting scholarship, conservation and partnerships with creative industries.

• BBC Music Studios (forthcoming)
  The BBC will bring state-of-the-art music studios to East Bank, supporting recording, rehearsal and live performance. This development will further strengthen the site’s position as a centre for creative production and broadcast excellence.
