Fostering a just transition to an inclusive economy
The impacts of climate change are not felt equally across society. We need to ensure our climate emergency response and approach is inclusive, fair and provides opportunities for local people.
Fair Energy Campaign
The project aims at reducing energy related carbon emissions within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and legacy boroughs through behaviour change initiatives consisting of an information and action campaign, and a series of energy service innovations to support residents to procure energy from 100% renewable sources. The project comprises two phases: 1. Inception (R&D) will identify barriers and opportunities for behaviour change in energy procurement and develop ‘proof of concept’ interventions to support households switching to renewable energy; 2. Scaled-up implementation targeting wider audiences – i.e. visitors, businesses and residential communities across the Park and the legacy boroughs.
Led by Loughborough University London, and in partnership with Citizens UK, Octopus and London Power, the Fair Energy Campaign champions best practices and principles, supports informed decisions for energy procurement and encourages customer-centric service innovation in the energy sector.
