Vision

Vision
The Pool Street Connectivity project seeks to create an improved pedestrian and cycle environment at Pool Street and Carpenters Road south (from the London Aquatics Centre car park entrance, meeting the Pool Street junction to the south), building on the investment already made in delivering a segregated cycle route going north along Carpenters Road. This project would help link East Bank, the UK's newest cultural quarter, to the emerging UCL East campus, Carpenter’s Estate, and towards High Street Stratford.
Connections from the south to QEOP (Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park) and the venues in this area are poor and the public realm uninviting. Walking and cycling improvements are critical to delivering sustainable active travel options and will be complimented by greening and other public realm improvements as part of the project. Carpenters Road has been identified as part of a strategically important cycling route that would link High Street Stratford in LB Newham to Hackney Wick in LB Hackney, including to new and emerging neighbourhoods and the East Bank cultural quarter along the way.

The voice of local people is crucial to help shape these ideas, we want to hear from people who know the area best, including residents and regular visitors; feedback will genuinely help shape what elements are taken forward towards delivery.
