This December, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park launches Winter Adventure – a new festive tradition that will bring the Park to life with seasonal events, inviting visitors to explore its spaces in new ways while celebrating the spirit, creativity and vibrant communities of east London and the Park’s partners.
Running daily from Monday 01 December to Wednesday 24 December 2025, the Park will open a different door each evening at 6:00pm, revealing a surprise festive moment at one of 24 locations across the Park – from its Olympic and Paralympic sporting venues and restaurants to community hubs and East Bank cultural institutions. The programme will culminate on Wednesday 24 December, when the final door opens at 12:00pm for a musical finale.
Bringing together places, partners and people across the Park, the free programme offers something for all ages and interests - from live music, performances and installations to community gatherings, sporting activities and festive food and drink.
The inaugural Winter Adventure has been made possible through the generous support of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park’s partners and contributors, including sponsorship from community partner Kilnbridge and in-kind contributions from supporting partners idverde UK, London Stadium and Wasserman.

Monday 01 December, 5:45pm – 7.00pm
Bobby Moore Academy Christmas Musical Extravaganza
Bobby Moore Academy kicks off the Winter Adventure series with its Christmas Musical Extravaganza. Visitors will be treated to an evening of music and celebration from the Academy’s scholars with a programme that includes a mix of traditional carols, contemporary favourites and joyful musical numbers to capture the festive magic of the season.

London College of Fashion, UAL – Not Just a Shop
London College of Fashion hosts Not Just a Shop – a go-to destination for one-of-a-kind gifts, homeware, artwork and fashion, all created by talented students and graduates of University of the Arts London. Visitors can enjoy live music, fashion-themed tarot readings, exclusive in-store discounts, complimentary refreshments and a wide selection of stocking fillers to buy from.

Tinsel and Tunes: An Evening of Songs with the UCL East Live Music Society
The UCL Live Music Society, winners of multiple Best Bloomsbury Production awards, presents an evening of festive musical performances showcasing talented student musicians across a range of genres.

East London Swedish choir Norrsång performs outside ABBA Arena for a selection of classic Christmas songs, Swedish seasonal favourites and more, sharing the stories and traditions of the Northern hemisphere through music.

The BIG Winter Market at Riverside East
The BIG Winter Market at Riverside East features over 30 independent stalls offering gifts, crafts, fashion, and homeware, perfect for Christmas shopping. Visitors can take part in free artist-led workshops, try Sixes’ Cricket taster sessions and enjoy a line-up of DJs and live music. The bars and kitchen will be serving winter warmers including mulled wine, hot chocolates, craft beer and hearty plates all day. At 6pm the venue will unveil a special live music performance.

A Crooner Christmas at Brew Street Cafe, Timber Lodge
Children and adults are invited to Brew Street Café at Timber Lodge for an evening of sing-along performances featuring classic Christmas songs, including a special debut performance from their own in-house Frank Sinatra. Santa’s helpers will also be on hand to assist children in writing and posting letters to the North Pole.

Meet Santa and his helpers at ASL Bridget’s Cafe
ASL Bridget’s Café, a community café providing training and employment opportunities for adults with Down Syndrome and additional needs, hosts a festive meet and greet with Santa and his helpers. Guests can enjoy songs, dancing and seasonal activities, along with hot drinks and sweet treats from the café.

The Great Christmas Sleigh Off at The Skills Centre, Build East
Santa’s elves at the Build East Skills Centre will take on a 30-minute festive build challenge. Racing against the clock, the elves will design, construct and decorate a sleigh worthy of the North Pole. The challenge will end in a dazzling finale: the big sleigh light switch-on.

Merry Making at Here East
Presented in collaboration with local businesses and community performers, Here East hosts Merry Making – an evening where visitors can explore a winter market featuring unique gifts and seasonal treats from local traders, enjoy live music and performances from community artists, and take part in winter-themed games for all ages.

Cycle with Santa at Lee Valley VeloPark
Cyclists of all ages are invited to ride alongside Santa and his sleigh-on-wheels on the Olympic road circuit at Lee Valley VeloPark. The event offers an enjoyable way to be active during the festive season. Participants are also encouraged to dress in festive outfits and decorate their bikes with lights for a festive ride under the winter lights.

Wickwonder Land: Live!
Head down to the river for Wick Wonderland, a festive riverside market at Barge East celebrating the best of Hackney Wick’s creativity. Discover local makers, seasonal street food and sip mulled wine in gardens decked with festive lights beside the historic barge. Enjoy live music from local musicians, community spirt and plenty of festive cheer at this waterside winter celebration.

Hammers Festive Fun Day at West Ham United Football Club
Families can enjoy a full day of festivities for West Ham’s final home fixture before Christmas. The programme includes Santa’s Grotto, live DJ sets, appearances from mascot Hammerhead and a prize wheel offering official club merchandise. At 6pm, a brass band will usher in the evening with festive Christmas songs and renditions of West Ham’s famous football tune.

Brass and Games by the Waterfront
Starting at Stratford Waterfront, a lively musical procession led by Das Brass, a local nine-piece brass band performing festive favourites, takes visitors to Waterfront Square in front of the soon-to-open V&A East Museum. There, the theatrical duo Tootles and Nibs host a range of games for all to enjoy. For those wanting to extend the evening, the newly opened Draughts situated nearby on Aquatics Walk will be open to continue the festivities.

Boulevard Boogie with East London Dance
East London Dance hosts an outdoor evening dance class in front of the London Stadium. People of all ages and abilities are invited to wrap up in style and enjoy a festive boogie. The session features music from festival DJs Disco Shed joined by Disco Head dancers.

Serve with Santa in partnership with Salvation Army at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre
Santa Claus joins families and friends on the tennis court for light-hearted rallies, followed by a carol singing session with members of the Salvation Army. The event is suitable for all skill levels and festive outfits and Christmas jumpers are encouraged.

Festive Spark at Stratford Cross
Stratford Cross hosts an evening of outdoor music, lights and family-friendly games and activities. The programme begins with a performance by the Sparks Drummers, a world-class percussion band known for their LED effects and dynamic street theatre. They will lead the crowd towards Endeavour Square, where the celebration continues with live music and a carol singing session. Children can also enjoy a storytelling session with Santa Claus.

Ebony Scrooge Taster at Sadler’s Wells East
Audiences will get a first glimpse of Ebony Scrooge, the first Christmas production at Sadler’s Wells East. This taster features performances from ZooNation Youth Company, showcasing their hip hop, comedy and physical theatre adaptation of A Christmas Carol - offering a preview for families and theatre fans.

Light Up the Season: Lantern Walk with Our Parklife
Children and adults are invited to craft their own lanterns at Brew Street Café before taking part in an evening lantern parade through the Park, led by Park Champions. The procession will feature lively music from the London School of Samba and performances by the Arcadian Divine Stilt Walkers.

Festive Aqua Splash at London Aquatics Centre
A one-off festive aquatics class takes place in the Olympic pool at one of London’s iconic sporting venues. The swimming session offers an energising workout set to upbeat Christmas music and is suitable for all abilities. Complimentary hot drinks and mince pies are offered in the café to continue the celebrations afterwards.

Smash into Christmas at Copper Box Arena
2012 Games sporting venue Copper Box Arena holds a badminton session set to classic Christmas music for families and friends. Groups of up to six can use the courts, providing an opportunity for children and adults to join in friendly rallies or matches.

The Noon before Christmas at Stratford Cross
Winter Adventure concludes with a Christmas Eve singalong at Stratford Cross with Natural Voices, an east London choir led by former West End actress Lizzy Renihan performing festive classics and inviting crowd participation. The event will also feature special surprises, including the Roller Skating Presents and walking stocking puppets from Stocking Up, providing entertainment for both children and adults on the final day before Christmas.

Visitors can extend their outing to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park’s Winter Adventure by exploring a wide range of food and drink destinations across the Park.
Draughts – A board game bar bringing 1,000+ games, food and cocktails. Open Sunday to Wednesday, 4:00pm – 10:00pm, and Thursday to Saturday, 12:00pm – 12:00am.
Riverside East – Serving breakfast, coffee, lunch and drinks. Open Sunday to Wednesday, 9:00am – 6:0 pm, and Thursday to Saturday, 9:00am – 9:00pm.
Hackney Bridge – Located at the Park’s edge, Hackney Bridge brings together a variety of food stalls offering a mix of global flavours from Japan to Italy. Open Tuesday to Thursday, 12:00pm – 10:00pm, Friday 12:00pm – 11:00pm, Saturday 11:00am – 11:00pm, and Sunday 11:00am – 9:00pm.
Barge East – This unique floating restaurant offers an intimate dining experience with river views along the Lea. Open Thursday 4:00pm – 12:00am, and Friday to Sunday 12:00pm –12:00am.
Ginger and Mint – Located along the River Lea, the newly opened cafe serves healthy dishes, as well as a range of hot drinks, shakes, and smoothies. Open daily 8:00 am – 5:00pm, closed on Tuesdays.
Timber Lodge - Set in the northern part of the Park next to Tumbling Bay adventure playground, the family-friendly café offers a varied menu including hot drinks, craft beers, pizza and more. Open Monday to Friday 9:00am – 4:00pm, Saturday 9:00am – 6:00pm, and Sunday 9:00am –5:00pm.
