Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is proud to announce that it has received a Green Flag Award for the 13th time, recognising it as one of the UK's best parks and green spaces. 

The Green Flag Award is the international quality mark for well-managed parks and green spaces. This year, a record-breaking 2,391 sites across the UK achieved the award, recognising their commitment to providing high-quality, accessible and welcoming green spaces for communities and visitors. 

The latest award reflects the dedication and expertise of the teams who care for and maintain Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park's parklands, waterways, gardens and public spaces. Their work ensures the Park remains a welcoming destination for residents, visitors and communities from across east London and beyond. 

The recognition also comes as the Park continues to deliver against its Inclusive Growth Framework, launched last year. One of the Framework's three pillars, Habitat, focuses on creating a sustainable environment where people, nature and enterprise can thrive, reinforcing the Park's commitment to biodiversity, climate resilience and high-quality green spaces for local communities and visitors alike.  

Spanning 560 acres in the heart of east London, the Park is home to an extraordinary range of landscapes and habitats. With almost 10,000 woodland shrubs and 120,000 flowers and plants across 102 acres, the Park is packed with life. Every waterway, meadow, wetland and pond has been carefully designed not only to create beautiful spaces for visitors to enjoy, but also to provide a thriving habitat for plants, animals and insects, supporting biodiversity across the Park.

“The award of this 13th successive Green Flag, recognises that Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park remains a beacon for creating place based regeneration with a park at it’s heart.  With around 20 million visits in the last 12 months, the Park remains central to delivering on the promises made, and our new inclusive growth framework sets out how we will optimise the investment made for the benefit of local residents and visitors.”

The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under contract from the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
