Feel on top of the world by heading up to the ArcelorMittal Orbit’s highest viewing gallery, 80m above London, for spectacular panoramic views of the City’s skyline from the UK’s tallest sculpture. Children go free, with every paying adult, this half term. Play the ultimate game of i-spy and spot iconic London landmarks including The Shard, The Gherkin, Big Ben, Canary Wharf or see if you can catch sight of an Spiderman-like abseiler, while The Slide is being built.  

Get a taste of what it’s like to be a Premier League footballer at West Ham United Foundation’s Soccer School, take to the water for some canoeing or give rowing a try on a scenic, calm section of the canals in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

For a flavour of Brazil, come along to our free Capoeira sessions, combining dance, martial arts, music and acrobatics, to explore a traditional and fun way of Brazilian culture.   

Fancy some more action? Learn to fence like Zorro at our 100-Days to Rio’s Paralympic Games activities, taking place on Bank Holiday Monday (30 May). With the Games in Rio fast approaching this will get you into the Olympic and Paralympic spirit, so why not come down to the Park and take part in some fantastic inclusive sports? Activities on offer will run from 12pm - 4pm and include Wheelchair Basketball, Boccia, Taekwondo, Mini Tennis and much more. The Park is the place to be this half term, for a fun free day out! 

If you’re seeking a more leisurely pace, take in the Park’s iconic venues on a boat tour or grab a bite to eat at the Podium Bar & Kitchen, where you can soak up the sun on the terrace and take in great views of the Stadium.

Fans of cycling won’t miss out either; whether you prefer road cycling or want to take on the velodrome track, both are on offer in this adrenaline-fuelled day sessions on Tuesday 31 May, Wednesday 1 June and Thursday 2 June. Teenagers aged 12-16 years will be inspired as they take on the London 2012 track and one mile road circuit. Getting active will be easy this half term, with introductions to both disciplines to start off on your cycling journey, though there are events going on all week. 

Half term at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park:
Kids get free access to the ArcelorMittal Orbit (free) 30 May – 03 June
For a limited time only this May half term, children go free, with every paying adult. Zoom to the top of the ArcelorMittal Orbit and see the spectacular London skyline; see inspiring iconic London landmarks including The Shard, The Gherkin, Big Ben, Canary Wharf and many more from the UK’s tallest sculpture.  

100 Days to go to Rio Paralympic Games (free) 30 May 
Sports on offer will include Athletics, Mini Tennis, Wheelchair Basketball, Fencing and much more. Activities will run from 12pm - 4pm and will be completely free to take part in; so visit the Park for a fun free day out!

Soccer School – West Ham United Foundation (free) 31 May – 01 June
A safe, friendly and enjoyable environment for youngsters to improve their football skills. This is suitable for children of all abilities aged between 5 and 15 and participants will receive a West Ham United certificate and medal. 

Take a splash or dive into deep waters at the London Aquatics Centre  
There will be a free Open Weekend event at the London Aquatics Centre in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, taking place on the final weekend of the half term holidays on Saturday 4 and 5 June. The special weekend will feature lots of free activities suitable for the whole family. Adults and children alike can register to have a go at aquatics sports, including diving, water polo or synchronised swimming, in free taster sessions lead by professional teachers and coaches. There will be fitness class taster sessions as well as plenty of information about how to get involved with different aquatics sports. All the activities will be taking place in the upper concourse of the award-winning London Aquatics Centre, offering visitors a chance to see inside the iconic building designed by the late Dame Zaha Hadid. Anyone can pop along on the day for free or you can book a taster session in advance from Wednesday 25th May by visiting www.londonaquaticscentre.org.uk/Inspired  There will also be the usual programme of half-term holiday pool activities including family fun swimming and inflatable Aqua Splash, bookable separately starting from just £2.50 for a junior swim, from Wednesday 1st June.

Sports sessions (some fees apply) 30 May – 03 June
An inclusive mix of various ‘drop-in’ activities, showcasing disability sports; including Boccia, Tennis, and Sitting Volleyball. Children of all ages and abilities are welcome to join in on the fun. 

Half term activities, Lee Valley VeloPark (booking fee) 30 May – 03 June
Whether it be BMX, Mountain biking or Pedal biking sessions, Lee Valley VeloPark will have something for all ages to take part in this holiday! This holiday get your toddlers and young children taking part in the VeloBalance and Pedal Up activities at Lee Valley VeloPark. These sessions will help to develop balance and coordination on bikes through fun games. 

Join us for a giant picnic in the Park
Pack your lunch box, get together with your neighbours, friends and family, and join us for a huge picnic in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Sunday 5th June to kick start a fantastic summer in the Park. The day will be packed with fun, free activities for everyone to enjoy. Get into the Rio spirit and take part in a range of Rio themed activities that will bring the Brazilian spirit to Stratford, or experience world class entertainment on the grand stage from Sadler’s Wells, Studio Wayne McGregor and London School of Samba.
