LEGACY COMPANY APPOINTS DIRECTOR OF VENUES

LEGACY COMPANY APPOINTS DIRECTOR OF VENUES

Press Release 20/05/2011

The Olympic Park Legacy Company has appointed Peter Tudor as Director of Venues.

The role includes overseeing the appointment of operators for venues such as the ArcelorMittal Orbit, Aquatics Centre and Multi-Use Arena.

Previously, Peter was at Ticketmaster as a Senior Director and General Manager of Wembley Arena during which time the Arena reopened after a £36m refurbishment in 2006. Whilst at Wembley, he chaired the UK’s National Arenas Association from 2002 to 2005. He will be reporting to Malcolm Ross, Executive Director of Operations and Venues.

Peter Tudor, Director of Venues at the Legacy Company, said:

“This is an extraordinary opportunity to take an unrivalled set of venues and turn them into a magnet for visitors, schools and community sport, as well as sporting and international events. The success of these venues in attracting visitors and the communities around them will help define the future Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as a ‘must see, must return’ destination.”

During the 2012 Games, he will work alongside the operators in analysing how the venues will function during major events and then use that knowledge to help turn them into thriving centres for sport and entertainment after the Games.
