“Nerves of steel?” – take on the ArcelorMittal Orbit Descender!

ArcelorMittal Orbit – controlled descent

Survived the 12 twists and turns of The Slide? Stood on the outdoor platform and looked down on London from the UK’s highest sculpture? Now there’s a new challenge you can take on at the ArcelorMittal Orbit – controlled descent!

The first experience of its kind in London – and the tallest in the UK – controlled descent gives you all the thrills of abseiling, without needing the skills – you’re guided to the ground by a member of the expert Wire & Sky team. Starting from 80m up in the air, you’ll have the chance to take in amazing views of London and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park before plucking up the courage to step over the edge in your special harness!

Initially available for one week only –  20-27 October – prices start from just £35.50, or you can add on a trip down The Slide too for just £40.50. And why not make a day of it by enjoying the Park’s other attractions – from a behind-the-scenes tour of London Stadium, to speeding around the BMX track at Lee Valley VeloPark.

To take part in the ArcelorMittal Orbit Descender you must be aged 14 or over, at least 1.2m high and not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. It is not suitable for pregnant women, or if you have a medical condition that may put your safety or the safety of others at risk. To be able to fit into the harness, you must have a waist of under 130cm and thighs of under 75cm, and weigh under 19 stone. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
