5 things to do at the Park this Mother’s Day

Whether you want to treat your own mum or plan a day out for your partner, you’ll find plenty to do on and around the Park this Mother’s Day.

1. Take a walk
The Park is home to acres of beautiful green spaces, waterways and little hidden gardens, perfect for a day of spring strolling. Who needs to buy a bouquet of flowers when you can take her for a walk among the Park’s stunning meadows and flower gardens, with everything from daffodils to Californian poppies on dazzling display.

2. Take in skyline views
If beautiful views are your (or your mum’s) thing, once you’ve soaked up the Park from ground level take a trip up the ArcelorMittal Orbit. From one of the two viewing platforms you’ll be able to enjoy panoramic skyline views of London from up to 80m in the air, with famous landmarks to spot and sprawling parks and rivers to admire from way up high. For a particularly adventurous family day out, book a ticket to Ride the Slide to top off your trip!

3. Take her for lunch
There are a range of food and drink options all over the Park, however far you fancy strolling. Find everything from brunch to a full-on Sunday lunch along Canalside by Here East, grab a coffee at The Last Drop next to the ArcelorMittal Orbit or discover the neighbourhood bars and restaurants of East Village and treat your mum to an afternoon cocktail or two.

4. Take her shopping
There’s no shortage of shops and other places around the Park to pick up a last-minute gift – Westfield Stratford City is one of the UK’s largest shopping centres, after all. For something really special, consider giving an experience instead and take a look at upcoming events in one of our incredible venues. Enjoy more quality time together – not to mention world class entertainment – with anything from international hockey to musical megastars.

5. Take some time out!
Alongside the world-famous sporting venues, the Park is also home to some irresistible playgrounds to keep children of all ages entertained. With nearby Timber Lodge café serving a range of delicious cakes, sandwiches and hot drinks, why not settle mum down with a treat or two while the kids work off some energy exploring Tumbling Bay playground. For a parent that’s always on the go, five minutes peace could be the most valuable gift in the world…
