Senior Paralympic Legacy Manager
£45,759 per annum
Maternity cover from mid-September until May 2016 (with the possiblity to extend)
Since hosting the 'most successful Paralympic Games ever' in 2012, London have invested over £5m in the world's first Paralympic Legacy programme based at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. This broadly comprises the delivery of high profile, partnership projects across the themes of: sport and volunteering; inclusive design and innovation; an annual festival, smaller events; venue accessibility and park mobility services. The programme also suppports teams across LLDC to mainstream inclusion across regeneration programmes.
The Senior Paralympic Legacy Manager will project manage key projects with the Paralympic Legacy Programme and will be the officer responsible for the successful development and delivery of the £1m Motivate East disability sport project and its key delivery partners. In additions to this, the Senior Paralympic Legacy Manager will provide advice and support for other projects and programmes developed by LLDC to ensure that the Paralympic Legacy is maximised and inclusion is mainstreamed.
We are looking for someone who has a degree qualification or experience that is relevant to regeneration, sport or inclusion. You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of delivering similar projects and have experience of project financial and performance management. You will have a broad understanding of the issues that face diverse communities and will have relatable experience of engaging with similar groups in East London or a similar area. We particularly welcome applications from people with direct experience of disability. An existing network of contacts (or the ability to quickly form this) and good stakeholder management skills are essential. Creativity and the ability to find innovative solutions to overcome complex problems is vital to this post.
