We are creating a dynamic new heart of East London. Inspired by the vision for the legacy of the Great Exhibition in Kensington, ‘Olympicopolis’ at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and will foster new opportunities for East London’s communities and businesses; artisans and scientists; dreamers and builders; athletes and scholars.
University College London (UCL) will create a new university campus to the south of the ArcelorMittal Orbit. This is part of a wider project to deliver a stunning waterside development which will create a major new, world class university and cultural district for the UK - bringing together outstanding organisations to showcase exceptional art, dance, history, craft, technology and cutting edge design. The Victoria and Albert Museum, Sadler’s Wells and the University of the Arts London are Partners of the project, which is backed by the Mayor of London and the Chancellor of the Exchequer, with more high profile national and international partners coming on board. Added to this will be high quality residential buildings, creating an opportunity to create a new piece of city in London.
The overarching goal is simple: to create a permanently attractive destination, where people want to live, work, play - and visit.
Working on this prestigious project, the Head of Residential will lead on the delivery of high quality residential buildings on Stratford Waterfront as part of the Olympicopolis project. You will be responsible for developing the design, commercial strategy, contractual structure and developing and implementing residential delivery. There will be a high level of stakeholder engagement in this role and you will need to be able to successfully engage with developers and investors from the private sector as well as town planning functions. You will engage with the design development process to ensure it drives value and quality.
To apply for this role you must have a post graduate qualification in a relevant discipline, or experience in the development sector with significant, demonstrable experience in the delivery of major residential development projects. It is essential that you have significant experience of structuring development agreements and/or joint ventures within the development sector coupled with a strong understanding of property development, financial analysis and funding mechanisms.
The Head of Residential will need to be able to demonstrate excellent negotiation skills and have a significant track record of successfully negotiating development and disposal contracts and promoting complex public/private partnerships.
