London’s newest visitor destination, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, is a place unlike any other. Visitors to the Park are able to enjoy beautiful parklands and waterways, world-famous sporting venues, arts and events and spectacular views from the ArcelorMittal Orbit. As a new heart for east London, the Park will also provide new homes, jobs and a cultural and education quarter.
The London Legacy Development Corporation promotes and delivers physical, social, economic and environmental regeneration in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and the surrounding area, in particular by maximising the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the established LLDC Events Team in the delivery of outdoor events across QEOP. Since 2013, the team have delivered over 150 events and filming opportunities attracting over 1.5m visitors.
The Events Manager will provide support to the Event teams in the development and delivery of a wide range of events and attractions both in and around the outdoor spaces of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Your role will be in the support of safe and successful delivery of events, from initial contract negotiation through to support external event organisers on site delivery. Where applicable you will be project managing LLDC’s partners in the delivery of events.
In addition you will be proactively involved in stakeholder communications regarding events and the update and maintenance of designated events on the Parkwide calendar and database. The events team works cohesively with all LLDC departments and key partners to ensure the events programme is integrated into the overall delivery of the Legacy project and in particular will work closely with the Marketing and Communications departments in regards to the promotion of events.
On the Park you will attend production builds, de-rigs, rehearsals, sound checks and events, report any technical or maintenance issues and Liaise with the production, health and safety and security teams to ensure events are safe and legally compliant.
The ideal candidate will be a graduate with a relevant degree. You will have good knowledge of event production and logistics and will have previously managed events of a reasonable size and scale. With demonstrable experience in budget, project and risk management, you will be able to gather and interpret information across multiple work streams and be able to work to pressured time lines. We are looking for someone with an interest in sport, music and arts & culture with industry relevant contacts.
