Car parking at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

An ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) is installed at the London Aquatics Centre and the Multi Storey Car Park.

Details of how to use the system at each site are below.  Please note that parking at either site is only for visitors to the Copper Box Arena or London Aquatics Centre - if you are not visiting either of these venues, this will result in a parking fine of £45.  Payment can be made by credit card or in cash. Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is a public transport destination.

London Aquatics Centre

  1. As you approach the entrance, please slow down and be prepared to stop at the barrier.  The ANPR camera will read your number plate and the barrier will open.
  2. Proceed to a vacant parking space and park as before.  There are no tickets or coins to collect and this is not a pay and display system.
  3. Before leaving the London Aquatics Centre exit gate, you will need to pay at the pay machines.  This will also validate that you have used the London Aquatics Centre facilities - as the car park is purely for people visiting this venue.
  4. Enter your car registration details and pay.  You will be charged at the appropriate rate depending on the length of your stay and whether or not you are a venue member.
  5. If you have not visited the venue, you will need to pay at the machine in the car park.  If you pay at this machine, you will be charged the full rate of £45 - so make sure you pay before leaving the venue to avoid this charge.
  6. Proceed to your vehicle and make your way out via the car park exit.  The ANPR camera will read your number plate and, if payment has been made, the barrier will open to allow you to exit.
  7. There is an intercom at the exit barrier should you have a problem.  This will connect you to the Park security headquarters to assist you.

Parking in the venue if you are not a London Aquatics Centre customer will result in a parking fee of £45.

Multi storey car park for Copper Box Arena

  1. As you approach the entrance, please slow down and be prepared to stop at the barrier.  The ANPR camera will read your number plate and the barrier will open.
  2. Proceed to a vacant parking space and park as before.  There are no tickets or coins to collect and this is not a pay and display system.
  3. After you have left the Copper Box Arena and made your way towards the car park, you will need to visit a pay machine to validate your parking- the pay stations can be found on Level 1. Simply enter your vehicle registration and the fee payable will be displayed. Payments can be made by cash or card.
  4. Proceed to your vehicle and make your way out via the car park exit.  The ANPR camera will read your number plate and, if payment has been made, the barrier will open to allow you to exit. Please note that you have a 15 minute grace period to leave before the system considers the vehicle as overstaying and will begin charging you according to the tariff.

Please ensure that you visit a pay machine before reaching the exit as the barrier will not lift if you have not made a payment. There is also an intercom system available on all pay machines and the exit barrier should you have any problems. This will connect you directly to the Parking Services Team who will be able to assist you.
