South of the Park, Pudding Mill, Sugar House Lane and Bromley-by-Bow are places that are beginning to change from traditional industry to a mix of new homes and new communities alongside modern businesses, set around the network of waterways which dominate the area.

An area of major change over the past decades, the London Legacy Development Corporation Local Plan hopes to see the development of a new District Centre, a location for a new school, open space community facilities and shops, catering for new and existing communities, with a smaller Local Centre close to Pudding Mill Lane Station in the north of this area.

Plans are already in place for improvements to Bromley-by-Bow station and to transport links for pedestrians and cyclists across the A12 and the River Lea, to provide better links to Stratford and the wider area.
