Existing communities

East London is one of the most diverse and exciting parts of London – and has a worldwide reputation as a hub for culture, for creativity and for innovation.

The Park sits at the heart of three vibrant communities – Hackney Wick and Fish Island to the west, Stratford to the east and Bromley-by-Bow to the south. Much of what the Park has to offer is a result of its location between these distinct areas, and you can make the most of your visit by taking the time to explore these areas and their overlap with the Park.

This could be a pleasant walk down the Greenway, which links all three of these communities in one tranquil gravel-lined route, or ending a day of shopping in Stratford with drinks in one of Hackney Wick's latest hotspots.

We’re working to build on the character of these areas and their communities as development of the Park takes place – you can read more about how we are doing this in our Local Plan.
