Stitching the Fringe

The Park doesn’t just stop at its borders. Thanks to a programme of creative and award-winning projects, the spirit of the Park is now merging into its surrounding neighbourhoods.

The ultimate goal is that Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park becomes a natural extension of its environment, and the boundaries between the Park and its neighbouring communities no longer exist.

To do this means building connections – from physical connections like roads and walkways, to cultural connections that help the people around the Park understand how it is part of their day-to-day lives.

We’ve been supporting a number of projects in the neighbourhoods surrounding the Park, designed make the Park and its attractions more accessible, as well as make some of the surrounding areas attractions in their own right.

You can read all about these projects in our Stitching the Fringe document, and a selection are in the gallery below.
