Equality and inclusion

When London won the bid for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games we promised that the biggest impact from hosting London 2012 in this part of London would be ‘the regeneration of an entire community for the direct benefit for everyone who lives there’. And because east London has such a young, diverse demographic, an inclusive approach is critical to our success.

We make sure that when we are deciding on our strategies, policies and projects, we think about how that will impact on different groups of people. We also make sure we engage with diverse groups to help us understand how to deliver a thriving and successful park, accessible and desirable new neighbourhoods, and well-attended venues and events.

We have set out our equality objectives in a strategy agreed by our board.

We also make sure that we monitor our progress towards these objectives and report this annually to the board.
