SPACE also delivers Learning and Participation projects for schools, young people and communities neighbouring SPACE studio sites, to promote engagement with creativity and the arts.
SPACE supports 700 artists with studios and a further 700 a year with professional development. Additionally, SPACE engages 15,000 people a year though public programmes. This takes place at 2 SPACE venues; SPACE HQ, 129 – 131 Mare Street, Hackney E8 3RH, and The White Building, Hackney Wick, E9 5EN – neighbouring Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Rachel works with artists at Space to help provide them with studio and creative spaces. She studied art at university but them went on to work in television and advertising. She also spent some time working in viral advertising. She would encourage young people to get involved in free artists events and exhibitions to build up your knowledge and networks.
Employer’s advice: get involved in free artists events and exhibitions to build up your knowledge and networks.
