Sorting out your plans for the May half term has never been easier! With a fantastic location in zone 2/3, the Park is only five stops from St Paul’s on the Central line and just a 7 minute journey from Kings Cross/St Pancras International! Escape the hustle and bustle without leaving London and take on a new adventure at the Park.

Kicking off May half term celebrations is the free and interactive four-day festival, Make The Future Live! Everyone is invited to collaborate to explore what a lower-carbon energy future might look like. The event will be packed with celebrity guest appearances, live performances, immersive experiences and more – register now for free tickets!

Continue your half term adventure by exploring the hundreds of acres of parklands! Discover secluded gardens, beautiful landscaping and relive the memories of London 2012 with one of the Park’s free trail guides. Sports fans will love the interactive London 2012 trail where the sights and sounds of the Games come to life and children can take on secret missions as part of the Explorers Guide in the Adventures in the Park trail

Take a break from the trail activities and enjoy a trip to the unique adventure play areas Rock pools, sand pits, treehouses, slides, swings, climbing walls, sand pits and the hugely popular fountains awaits on our popular playgrounds

It’s not just the little kids who can have fun at the Park, big kids can also enjoy the thrill of The Slide at the ArcelorMittal Orbit. The world’s longest and tallest tunnel slide twists and turns its way around the iconic red steel sculpture 12 times and takes sliders on a 15mph journey through the light and dark sections of the 178m long slide. Visitors can also explore London’s famous skyline from 114.5m in the air through stunning floor to ceiling windows or on the 80m high outside observation walkway. Take advantage of extended opening hours from 10am – 6pm there is plenty of time to enjoy the mesmerising sights of the iconic London skyline. 

If the kids have still got energy to spare why not jump aboard a Swan Pedalo? Get those legs working and explore the Park on the waterways, or if you want to give the legs a rest then join helpful guides on the boat tours – running daily throughout May half term!

Feel like an Olympian and try an activity inside one of the iconic London 2012 venues. At the London Aquatics Centre, the popular water-based obstacle course returns for a week of non-stop madness as children and their families climb, jump, slide and bounce their way across the hilarious inflatable course! Aqua Splash is available for children aged 5 and above on 3 June and Extreme Aquasplash is available for ages 8 and above every weekday from 29 May – 2 June! Be sure to book in advance, these sessions are very popular!

Keep the blood pumping and enjoy games, arts and crafts at the Fit For Sport Activity Camps in the Box The Rocks! From 30 May – 2 June, holiday camps are available for kids aged 5 – 12 and are run by trained professional who focus on ensuring all children have a great experience in a safe and supportive environment! Every day includes a swim in the pool of champions, before taking on new and exciting challenges. Places fill up fast, so be sure to book in advance.

Aspiring cyclists can follow the footsteps of Sir Chris Hoy and Dame Sarah Storey on the track at Lee Valley VeloPark in the Pedal Up Pump sessions! The one hour fun-fuelled lesson includes all equipment and coaching with the opportunity to take on the 42 degree track! Furthermore, cycling fanatics can also take on the BMX, mountain and road track in other exciting sessions throughout the half term!

Get those jazz hands ready, as cheerleading sessions return to Timber Lodge Café on 30, 31 May and 1 June from 9am – 3pm. These free sessions must be booked in advance but due to limited places, you must be able to commit to all three days! 

Additionally, kids can have the chance to try free multi sports sessions on 31 May and 1 June from 11.30 – 4pm. Choose from: boccia, new age kurling, inclusive tennis, sitting volleyball, dance, golf and much more! Community Golf also offer all the family the opportunity to play golf for free, with a range of putting and chipping skills games outside the café on 1 June from 11 – 12 noon and 12.30 – 1.30pm. Simply turn up to Timber Lodge Café and take part.

West Ham United foundation is also offering the perfect solution to half term boredom for your aspiring junior footballers! Dribble, tackle and shoot your way through Hopkins Field in the north of the Park on Monday 29 and Wednesday 31 May from 9am – 3pm. Simply turn up and play in this free session!

After an action packed day at the Park, make sure you head to Canalside at Here East to relax and unwind as the sun sets by the canal. Choose from chicken wings, great drinks, homemade hand-rolled pasta, award-winning cocktails and much more on the vibrant strip of eateries. Don’t miss out on the essential coffee and cake or a delicious three-course meal and check out all the options for food and drink around the Park!
